Dear Elias, I was torn between summer and school time, because I liked going back to school to see my friends (I was quite chatty and often got in trouble for talking too much!), but I also liked being home.  My summers were filled with riding my bike, swinging on our rickety-old swingset, playing backyard baseball, and reading.  Back then, we weren't allowed to be inside all day.  My mom said, "Go outside and play" and we did.  We came home to go to the bathroom, eat, and sleep.  Have a great week, Debbie

Hi Addison, I really liked fifth grade and I hope you will too.  It was one of the Trouble at Trident Academy'funnest' years of school for me.  It is understandable to be leery of anything new though, just like Shelly was in the first Mermaid Tales, Trouble at Trident Academy.  I hope your first day is awesome and I will say a prayer for you!  I have written some books for older kids:  King of the Kooties, Cherokee Sister, and Whistler's Hollow
Elias, good luck with your writing!  Have you checked out my writing page yet?  I imagine your order forms will still be accepted, but I will check for you.  Have a great weekend, Debbie

Elias, you are awesome!  The Bailey School Kids series is not Cavemen Do Drive School Busesofficially over, but we're not currently writing any books for the series and none are planned.  But you never know!  I'd love to write another one.  If you've read all the Bailey School Kids numbered books and the specials, you might like to try our spin-offs, Bailey City Monsters and Bailey School Kids Junior Chapter books.  I'd love to hear from you by mail.  You can write to me at Scholastic 557 Broadway NY, NY 10012 or you may still have my home address from the newsletters I sent you.  Take care, Debbie
