Hi Angelina, Amarria, and Molly! Molly, I hope you have fun in Florida. Joseph and Christina, your ideas were so funny! Jennifer, Alexandria, Chelsea, and Charlotte I hope you guys will check out my writing page for tips. Just keep scrolling down for more. Savannah, I'm so glad you like Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots. It was my first book!   I was 27 when Marcia and I wrote it. Danielle, The Bailey School Kids series does hold a special place in my heart.
     Ian, I do like pickles alot. Kenna, I have 3 dogs. The kids I write about are made-up, but real kids give me ideas. I have lots of favorite books, one is Ghouls Don't Scoop Ice Cream.
     Chloe, I've been very blessed. Some schools have done some amazing things when I've visited. One school had me arrive in a limo and every student lined the road waving banners and cheering. It was on the local news station. Another school turned every classroom into a Debbie Dadey book with different themes. For example in two classrooms they had a cowboy theme for my Buffalo Bill book and a nurse doing a litmus test for Martians Don't Take Temperatures. It was quite amazing. Pine Road Elementary, a school I visited recently, had an amazing door decorating contest. Broadmoor Elementary, another school I visited recently, had an egg decorating contest. They turned plastic (and real) eggs into book characters. They were good. The kids at the school I visited in New York yesterday had the most amazing laughs. They really got me tickled. ttyl, Debbie

Kenna, Kelsey, and Bailey-thanks so much for your awesome ideas! You guys are very creative. Bailey, I love your name and your initials! Brianna, I think it is fun to write about monsters! The idea for the Bailey School Kids series came from a bad day! Marcia and I thought if we were monster teachers all the kids would listen to us. Hello from Kansas. Unfortunately because of weather trouble elsewhere I couldn't get home tonight and hopefully I'll get home first thing tomorrow. Hannah, I'm so glad you like Sea Serpents Don't Juggle Water Balloons. Sarah, my favorite part of writing is the actual writing. Rewriting is my least favorite part, but it's actually the most important. Gabriella, I hope you'll check out my writing page. It has a podcast that's all about getting ideas. Nina, I went to Western Kentucky University. Nina and Gabrielle, my first book came out in 1990. Kennia, thanks for your great idea!
