Medaya, I don't know Gennifer.  Jenny, in Swamp Monster in Third Grade, the effects of the carrot wears off the swamp monster.  Emily, I do have a Wii in my house.   It's my youngest son's though.  He beats me every time we play tennis or pool or bowling!  Your teacher can email me through the events area of my website.  That email is only for adults to contact me.  Taylor, if your parents want to order books, they can do it in my book section or just go to your local bookstore.

VampiresDon'tWearPolkaDots My first story (Christopher, that's Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots) came from a bad day.  Isn't it funny what can give you an idea for a book, Caitlin?  Nick, I'm glad you liked Dragons Don't Cook PIzza.  I have a new dragon book called Dragons Don't Throw Snowballs.  Also, I have Dragons DO Eat Homework.  I hope you'll like them too.

Sue and Jacob, usually I write around a book a month, but sometimes it takes much longer.  Each book is so different! Yes, Riley, I was so happy when I sold my first book.  I danced on the tabletops!  Stay cool and have fun reading, Debbie

Brrr from the frozen North!  I couldn't even get home Friday night from my school visit because it was snowing too hard in Philadelphia.  Luckily, I was able to get home on Saturday morning for a very important occasion, my daughter's comfirmation.  Congratulations Becky!

Whitney, I usually write every day.  Yes, Nicca, I do like to write because anything can happen in a story.  Ella, I usually write one or two chapters a day at the most.

Catherine, believe it or not I was taking belly dancing classes!  LIndsay, my Grandmother Bailey was so special to me.  That must be why there are wonderful Grandmothers in Whistler's Hollow and Cherokee Sister.  Katie, you should be able to get that book through my site (the book section) or get your local bookstore to order it for you, with your parent's help of course.  Gig, I have three dogs.  You can see them on the about me page. Tyul,  I also have three wonderful kids and a fantastic husband named Eric.  He's a chemist.  He works to make new medicines to help people who are really sick.

MummiesDon'tCoachSoftball Yes, Emily, I do like writing with my family.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Becky and I can get our book published.  Hunter, Mummies Don't Coach Softball is the only BSK book about baseball.  Shelby, I did have fun at your school.

Kevin, I think you had a good idea about Eddie learning the times table.  Good luck with yours!  Carlithia did you know you can print this page?  It's sort of like a diary.  I did want to skydive at first, but then I got scared.  Has that ever happened to you?

Nikki, you can look on the swamp page for info about me and also on the events page. I hope Rose can find three interesting things there.  On March the 12th, I will be in Ottawa, KS.  Hopefully that is close to you Emily.  If not, get your teacher to email me and I'll see what I can do about visiting your school.  You sound like a wonderful girl.  Perhaps you should give a bit of your money to the American Heart Association, buy books with a bit, and then save a bit.

VampiresDoHuntMarshmallows Hannah and Zane, my newest book is Vampires DO Hunt Marshmallow Bunnies.  Samantha, I do like the Worst Name in Third Grade.

I like unicorns too Karen.  In fact, Marcia Jones and I just finished a book that will come out next spring that has a very smarty-pants unicorn in it.  Yes, TaDymah, I did write Mrs. Jeepers Batty Vacation.

Many happy greetings to Chad, Helen, Mollie, Bri'shell, Jhaejaun, Tyler, Kyle, Caitlyn, Samuel, Hailee, Catherine C., Catherine, Catherine H. and Sidney.  I hope life is good for you today.  If not, then remember what my dad told me once.  You are as happy as you want to be.  There had been times in my life when bad things have happened to me,  but I got through them and so will you.  I wish you the best, Debbie

hearts Happy Valentine's Day.  You are all very special to me and I thank you for writing.

Kaitlyn, you're cool too!  My first book came out in 1990.  Thanks for your funny title idea.  Allison, the craziest research I've done for a book is sky-diving (click here!) and going to Space Camp.  Teonna and Haley, I just finished a Snow Monster book which is perfect for today.  In Pennslyvania where I live it's snowy.  I didn't get home from my school visit to Louisana until 2:30 last night so I'm a bit pooped.  But I did get to visit a very fun school!

Dede, I'm so glad you liked the Worst Name in Third Grade.  Have you checked out Bridgett's site and her blog

Hi to Bobina, Taylor, Kevin, Destiny, Dylon, Jazmine and her sister, Ariel, Megan, Emily, Jade, and Monet.  You guys rock!  Monet and Amber, check out the Swamp Club for stuff about me for your reports.  Let me know if you need anything else.

Caroline, the screenplay is with an LA. agent right now.  He called the idea delicious so I hope he likes it.  I know it's a long shot, but hey that's what makes it exciting.

Soe, of course, I'd love to visit Singapore.  Soe and Haley, ask your teachers to look on my events page to find out about having me come to your school.  A few years ago I went to Egypt on a school visit and my son Nathan went with me.  Ever since then my daughter has reminded me that she wants to go with me on a school visit to another country.

DebbieWithSkippyBaileyShadow violewalk, firegirl, and mmaas I'm so glad you like my books.  mmaas, I think Jasper disappeared because he was at peace.

balloons I was near New Orleans at two great schools last week.  I even got to see two Mardi Gras parades while eating at Copelands in New Orleans.  Then off to the Cafe DuMonde in the French Quarter for these really delicious French donuts.  They had like three inches of sugar on top!  They must buy powdered sugar by the truck load.  Thanks to the schools for a fun time.

Did anyone see the Super Bowl?  I must admit I was rooting for the Giants, since they were the underdogs.  Just goes to show what never giving up will do for you.  Congratulations to New Yorkers everywhere.

CupidsDontFlipHamburgers Libby, it takes different amounts of time to write different books. It has taken me from one week to eight years!  Caressa, I'm glad you liked Cupids Doesn't Flip Hamburgers.  Isn't this the perfect time of year for that book?  Check out my book section for more Valentine books.  Branden, I'm so glad you like Trolls Don't Ride Roller Coasters.  Did you know I'm scared of roller coasters?

Skylynn and Ashely, thanks for your coooooool ideas.  Emily, I get ideas from everywhere and I've written around 140 books.  Mac, I'm really old.  This year I'll be almost half a century old.  I'll let you figure that one out.

Megan, Monifah and Lucas, you guys are totally cool.  Caleigh, there's a section of my Swamp Club just for book reports.  Check it out and good luck on your report.SwampMonsterinThirdGrade

Alyssa, you're right.  I must like third grade and I think it's because I thought my third grade teacher was sooooooo mean.  I got in trouble all the time for talking too much.  Have you seen the Swamp Monster in Third Grade series

Joey, check out the tips on writing on my home page link. Kevin did and he made a  wild ending!   Thanks to Emily, Nicholas, and Gabby for writing.  Your schools are great.  Nicholas, the new series Marcia and I are working on is mysterious, funny, and exciting.  It will come out next year.  Happy Mardi Gras!  (For those who don't know, Mardi Gras is officially the day before Lent starts for Catholics.  Lent is a time of trying to do good things before Easter.  In New Orleans, they celebrate Mardis Gras with lots of parades and parties.) brb, Debbie
