Hi guys!  I'm back from a trip to visit my mom in Kentucky.  A big thunderstorm kept me from coming home yesterday.  We flew to Philadelphia, couldn't land, and then flew back to where we'd come from!  I ended up spending the night in a hotel and not getting much sleep.  I don't know about you, but I'm grouchy when I don't get enough sleep.  It was nice visiting my mom, brothers and my older brother's family though.  My older brother likes old cars, so I went to a vintage car show with him and his wife, Betty.  My brother Frank has an Eddieawesome old corvette and his wife has a totally cool old chevy.  I think I need an old car too!
Hey Kendra, I'd love to visit your library.  Tell your librarian to shoot me an email.  I'm glad you like Eddie-he's a bit of a character isn't he?
Are you back to school yet?  Yikes, where I used to live in Kentucky they start next Monday!  ttyl, Debbie

Whew!  Are you hot?  I know it's steamy here in the easternCupid Does Eat Chocolate Covered Snails United States.  To everyone who has a pool-you are so lucky!  Mexline, I'm so glad you like my books and hope you are having a great summer.  Braydon, your ideas were so funny!  I particularly liked The Big Bad Wolf Doesn't Go Bowling.  Did you know that Marcia Jones and I did write a bowling book?  It's called Cupids Does Eat Chocolate Covered Snails.
Kenterias, I do like tigers.  I am having fun writing a new book right now.  Yesterday we went fishing and were lucky to find a place in the shade.  I didn't fish, but took pictures and read.  My son Alex and my daughter Becky caught a bunch.  My husband Eric was pretty busy just putting mealworms on the hooks.   Enjoy the rest of July, Debbie

Mermaids Don't Run Track     Cassidy, we didn't set off any fireworks Debbie and the Statue of Libertythis year because it's been so dry where I live.  God bless you too!  Adri, I'm glad you like Camp Lone Wolf.  Did you know that Mermaids Don't Run Track takes place there too?   I have had a busy week though.  I went to New York City.  I took my daughter and her friend to see the Statue of Liberty, the 911 sight, Rockerfeller Center, and Times Square.  While we were in Times Square they were filming a commercial for a new Madden football video game with Drew Breeze, the Saints quarterback.  We got to be in the commercial!  It was so hot, we almost melted!  Then we ate at a cool place called Debbie and the Big ApplesEllens's Stardust Dinner where the waiters and waitressess sing.  Then we saw the play Wicked, which was so awesome.  I love seeing plays on Broadway!!
Dekarian, I do like polar bears, but I think Howie and Liza Ghouls Don't Scoop Ice Creamare a bit young to date.  Jackson, I'm so glad you like my books.  Do you have a favorite?  Sarah, thanks for the fun idea.  I'm so happy you enjoyed Ghouls Don't Scoop Ice Cream.  Super Eddie is my favorite chapter.
On Thursday of this week, I went to Sea Isle City, New Jersey with my kids and we all managed to get a little bit sunburned.  The minute you stepped into the water, you were cooled off.  We even had a picnic on the beach, which was on my summer list.  Have you made a list of things you want to do this summer yet?  I've crossed off three things so far, but I have eight things left to do.
Yesterday, I went to the Tinicum Arts Festival and did a book signing.  I met some awesome people, including the lovely young Caitlin who gave me the funny idea of Medusa Doesn't Milk Cows.  Go Caitilin!  ttyl, Debbie

Happy Fourth of July!  Have fun celebrating.  Today, I plan to take a friend to the Liberty Bell. Tomorrow, I plan to go to Red, White, and BOO!church, out to brunch, go to a local celebration, have a cook-out and then sit outside to watch fireworks.  Because of where we live (close to Philadelphia) we can watch four fireworks displays from our driveway!
Mithila, I'm so glad you like my books.  Have you checked your local library for more books?  I've been going to my library a lot Gargoyles Don't Drive School Buseslately.  The nice thing is that if they don't have the book you want you can ask them to order it, or borrow it.
Kendra, I would love to visit your library.  Please ask your librarian to invite me.  I got the idea for Gargoyles Don't Drive School Buses from where I used to live near Chicago.  There was a building that had cool gargoyles on it.
Samara, I'm glad you like Genies Don't Ride Bicycles.  It's my mom's favorite too.  What would you wish for if you had three wishes?   ttyl, Debbie

Hey Mina, thanks for your fun idea.  Are you planning on writing any stories this summer?  Maybe you'd like to join my Aliens Don't Wear Bracessummer writing club. Information about it will be on my homepage this week.  Writing is hot stuff!  I don't know about where you live, but it's definitely been hot here in Pennsylvania.
Hania, I'm so glad you love my books.   You sound like a fantastic reader.  Did you know we got the idea for Aliens Don't Wear Braces from a student in one of Marcia's classes?
So sad to see the US loose in the World Cup, but better luck next time!   I can't believe how hot it is, hope it's cooler where you are.  ttyl and stay cool, Debbie
