Dear Lauren the Blue Kiwi, I'm going to go with Poseidon, Treasure in Trident Citysince the Greeks thought he was the god of the sea and horses (and I like both of those!)  Of course, the book Hercules Doesn't Pull Teeth is based on a Greek hero.
Hi Alysha, you are right!  Maya, I am so happy you like the Mermaid Tales series.  You sound like you live a very interesting life.  Did you know that I am part Cherokee?
Kylie, thanks for your kind words.  Adrianna, where did you see a mermaid?  Have a great weekend and I hope you'll share with me what you're reading this summer, Debbie

Cyclops Doesn't Roller-SkateHi Kylie and Sam, I really liked your fun ideas!  Isobel, so glad you enjoy my stories.  Here's a free one that you can do as a play.
Noni, how exciting to get a horse for your birthday!  I've always thought it would be cool to have a horse.  Have fun in Peru.  Lauren the Blue Kiwi, I do know a bit about Greek Mythology. In fact, several of the Bailey School Kids are based on myths.  Can you guess which ones?
Aiyana, I can tell you would make a very good friend.  I agree that it would be hard to be cooped up for a long time and that is part of the reason why the ghosts get a little wild sometimes.  I also think they are a bit jealous that someone else is using what they think is their classroom.  When I was growing up there was a beautiful old home in my town that was torn down to make a parking lot.  I thought it was such a shame.  That's how I feel about the Blackburn Mansion, but Andrew's parents didn't agree.  This summer you might like to try writing your own stories with some of the characters from Ghostville Elementary.  Have fun!  Best, Debbie

Hi Giovanna, I am making more books and I'm thrilled that Zombies Don't Play Socceryou like my stories.  Adithi, glad you enjoyed my website and the Bailey School Kids games.  How did you do on the guess the character game?  I think it is pretty tough.
Sasha, I am honored that you like to read because of my books.  I hope you find them at the library!  Sometimes you can order them online as well.  Is your soccer coach a zombie?  Hey Kylie, thanks for your fun idea!  It is a combination of Zombies Don't Coach soccer and Wolfmen Don't Hula Dance. Kameron, do you think there should be more Bailey School Kids books?  Sanaya, I do know Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots because my friend Marcia and I wrote it.  I do know what is in the basement. What do you think is in the box? It is in this book: Mrs. Jeepers Creepy Christmas
A Whale of a Tale     Keziah, hope you are still enjoying Battle of the Best Friends.  Did you know that book #3, A Whale of a Tale is all about humpback whales?
Wow, Aiyana, you have so many great questions.  Yes, I agree that the ghosts in Ghostville Elementary are misunderstood.  Sometimes kids aren't very nice when they are afraid or don't understand something.  Did you know my mom actually went to a one room school house called Rough and Ready?  I actually wrote a story about that, but I never sold it.  Rehana and Aiyana, I'd love to visit your schools next school year.  Your principals are welcome to contact me.  My presentations usually last for one hour and I do three in one day.  Wow, Kylie, you are a big reader.  Do you have a favorite one of my books?
My husband and I just celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary!  Have an awesome weekend and God bless, Debbie

The Lost PrincessHi Eleanor, Shelly was shocked to find out she was a mermaid too!  In A Royal Tea, Queen Edwina comes to visit Shelly. In the next book about Shelly, the mergirls get to go to King Neptune's castle to visit her aunt.  Unfortunately something very important disappears and it looks like it's Shelly's fault!  That book comes out in December.  Hope you'll like it.
Aiyana, God bless you for your kind words.  My mother and I both love Kentucky basketball, so of course my favorite part of Ghost Game is when they are playing basketball.  I'm glad you feel like part of the story when you read it-that's what every author wants!  I think the ghosts are in third grade.  Please tell your principal I'd be happy to visit your school and you can show her this link if she thinks it is a possibility.
Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.  Happy birthday to my son Nathan.  Hope everyone can join me tonight in Doylestown, PA. at Booktenders Secret Garden for a poetry night.  Best, Debbie

Hi Aiyana, my favorite character in the Ghostville Elementary series is definitely Becky.  She is named Ghost Classafter my mom and my daughter.  Is your birthday soon?  If so, happy birthday!  My oldest son's birthday is tomorrow, so happy early birthday wishes to him!  I hope you will like books 3 and 4 (New Ghoul in School and Happy Haunting) as much as you liked the first book, Ghost Class.  As for why it ended with #17, that was Scholastic's choice (the publisher for that book.)  I think the ghosts are still there in the basement, don't you?
Isobel, I am so sorry about your grandmother.  Thanks for your very kind words about my mom.  I believe she is in heaven with my dad and grandmother.  God bless, Debbie
