I am looking forward to my school visit this Friday and I thank everyone for their great questions!  Here are my Sea Monsters Don't Ride Motorcyclesanswers.  Meghan, Jessica, Kiera, Ethan, Ali, Marissa, Nick, and Erik-I have sold 158 stories to be made into books.  Carly, I was a cheerleader for a couple of years.  Grace, Ali, and Bianca, my first book was Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots.  Scott and Matthew, it came out in 1990.  Nick, that first book turned into my first series-The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids.  Cody, I've never counted up how many kids have written to me online, but it's been quite a few.
Molly, Susan, Ella, and Jordan, as you can imagine it is hard to pick my favorite Bailey School Kids book, but today I'm feeling very partial to Sea Monsters Don't Ride Motorcycles.  Matt and Steven, I was 27 when I wrote my first book for publication.
Haley, Lucas, and Abigail, story ideas can come from anywhere-from something that happens to you to something you read about in the paper.  The idea for Bigfoot Doesn't Square Dance Ghosts Don't Eat Potato Chipscame from a newspaper article.  Kat, I do like to write and it's fun to write with Marcia.  Marissa, I wanted to be an author because I love to read so much.
Izzy, I live in PA. and Marcia lives in KY.  The hardest Bailey School Kids book to write was Ghosts Don't Eat Potato Chips. Joe, it took two years! Luan, not sure what you are asking.  Kelly and Matthew, my favorite ice cream is Butter Pecan.
Ryan, it was fun working at McDonalds when I was in high school and college.  I think anything can be fun if you have the right attitude.  Matthew and Lauren, it took eight years to write one of my thickest books, Cherokee Sister.
Maggie and Kylie, I'm so glad you like the Mermaid Tales series.  Kamirya, I'm delighted you like my mysteries.  Preity, Aliens Don't Wear BracesBrianna, Suei, and Julia, so happy you like my stories.   Abigail, I'm thrilled you like Aliens Don't Wear Braces.
Erik and Roan, I am working on another series right now.  Ninjas do eat pizza sounds like a fun idea.  Have you seen Dragons Don't Cook Pizza and Ninjas Don't Bake Pumpkin Pies.  Dylan, it's cool that you write books with a friend.  And so many!   Jack, good luck with your writing.  Jack, Matt, Nick, and Mark-I like to write because I think it's fun and because anything can happen in a story.
Gillian, I do like to draw.  The Bailey School Kids and Mermaid Tales are my two favorite series.  Yes, Louis-I am looking forward to visiting your school.  Mason, I am really old!  Kylie, Bailey is seventeen, which is really old for a dog.  The Slime WarsJessica, I have three children and three dogs.  My handsome husband is named Eric.
Ella, I'm so tickled that you like Ghostville Elementary.  Did you know that the ghost Becky is named after my daughter?    My sons are Nathan and Alex.  Susan, Cleopatra was a ruler of Egypt.  Basil and Logan, I think the werewolf is my favorite BSK creature.  What's yours?  Kylie, I'm glad you like Slime Wars.  Do you have a favorite part?  Happy Wednesday, Debbie

Gavin, I'm so glad you like my books.  Chris, it's hard to pick Trolls Don't Ride Rollercoastersa favorite because I like all my books, but since it's close to summer I'm liking Trolls Don't Ride Rollercoasters.  Do you have a favorite?  Elias, only one Bailey School kid has a last name, do you know which one?  Do you think Marcia and I should write a new BSK?  We never told what state Bailey City is in because we felt like everyone should feel like it's in their state.
Karissa, I started writing professionally at age 27.  Arianna, I do like to play tennis.  In fact, I'm playing today!  Wish me luck.  Sofia, my children don't like playing tennis.  I wish I could get them to like it.  Do you like playing tennis?  If you are already on summer vacation, hope you'll print out my bookmark.  Hopefully you'll win a prize!  Have a fabulous week, Debbie

The Slime WarsDear Olivia, it takes different amounts of time for different books.  Cherokee Sister took me eight years!  Cassidy, I think I do remember every title.  Stefano, I'm so glad you like Slime Wars.  I had fun writing it with my son, Nathan.  Andrew, I'm really, realy old!  Alexandra, I think my favorite joke in the Bailey School Kids joke book is the one that's something like "What's creepy and has a red nose?"  It's Rudolph, the red-nosed zombie!  Hi to Alex and Debbie!
Fred, it's cool that you are reliving the Bailey School Kids books.  You might even like to say hi on Facebook.com/debbiedadey.  Marcia and I never said for sure what state the Bailey School Kids lived in, but I always thought it could be Ohio.
Maggie, I do like being an author.  This week I plan to This Side of Magiclearn and write about crabs!  I'll also be skyping with two schools, visiting one school in New Jersey, and speaking at a writer's conference.  I'll also get to meet my summer Intern, so it should be a busy week.
James and Erik, most of my series you don't have to read in order, athough lots of people do like to start with number one.  My first book was Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots.  One series you probably should read in order is the Keyholder series.  Have a great week, Debbie

Hi Camille, I'm not sure where Buhl is, but I'm sure it would be fun to visit.  You can see where I'll be visiting by clicking Meet Mrs. Jeeperson my event calendar.  It's funny that you think your music teacher might be a vampire.  One question:  Does she wear polka dots?  You can find out more about Mrs. Jeeppers by clicking here.  Tell Hannah I said hi!  I like your fairies idea!  I do hope Marcia and I get to write another Bailey School Kids book.  We had so much fun writing the others.  Have a fun weekend, Debbie
