Dragon Homework Box

Materials
- Cereal box, about 12" x 8"
- Green acrylic paint and paintbrush
- Colored paper or cardstock: green, light green, black, orange, white
- Black marker
- Gluestick
- Yellow lined school paper, 6" x 5"
- Ruler, pencil, scissors
Directions
Teachers
- Enlarge photo and trace head, wings, and tail.
- Use compass to make circles or trace circular items about the sizes needed.
- Make several tracers for students to use.
Students
- Paint cereal box green. Let dry.
- Round corners of 8" x 10" light green paper and glue to front of box.
- Trace and cut the circles: two 3" green, two 1 ¾" white, one 1 ¾" light green cut in half, two 1" orange, two 1" light green, four ½" black.
- From green paper, cut 7 ½" x 5" head, two 6" x 3 ½" wings, 5" x 5" tail, and two 1 ½" ears.
- Cut 10 white 1" triangles for teeth and nails.
- Glue white circle eyes to face. Glue orange and black circles to eyes. Glue half light green circles as eyelids.
- Glue two light green and two black circles to face as nostrils.
- Glue 2 teeth to mouth and 2 ears to head. Draw 3 curved lines to face with marker and glue head to top of box.
- Glue wings and tail to back of box.
- Rip top of school paper and write "HOMEWORK" with marker. Glue to front of dragon.
- Glue 4 nails to backs of 3" circle hands and glue to HOMEWORK paper.
